The bath, wash hand basin, and w.c. are all located along the external wall, to minimise the pipe runs to a soil pipe in the corner of the room. The window is situated behind the wash hand basin, and the opening light is positioned just under 2 metres above the bathroom floor. This, together with the fact that the internal sill is 450mm in depth, means that the horizontal distance to be reached is some 920mm. Without standing on or in the bath, this makes the window catch very awkward to reach, and the full opening of the top-hung window virtually impossible for anyone of average height or below.G-Example 1
