Background: This dwelling comprises of three bedrooms, a living room and bathroom at first floor

level with shared use of a kitchen on the ground floor. This kitchen is used for commercial purposes by

the ground floor fast food takeaway business which occupies the entire ground floor. The kitchen

Justification: The provision of a separate domestic kitchen including provision for temperature controlled food

storage would ensure that food can be stored and prepared without the risk of cross contamination and would ensure

that the flat was the nearer the national average.

Justification: The arrangements for preparing and cooking food are far from ideal. The likelihood of harm is

increased by the lack of facilities for storage of food, and the sharing of kitchen facilities with a fast food takeaway

business. The risk of food spoilage and cross contamination of surfaces, and so of infection, is higher than averag

In addition, the use of the kitchen by the flat dwellers will generally compromised by the pressures of business needs.
